One full day of Traininng

Part 1: Creating Awareness (Core Competency 8): This session explores ICF Core Competency 8 – Creating Awareness and begins with an in-depth exploration of the components and skills that make up this core competency as defined by the ICF. Students will learn about promising areas for exploration with clients and about tools for developing awareness. The session includes live demonstrations, time for small group discussion, 50 minutes of one-to-one practice coaching and one hour of small group mentor coaching.

Part 2: Designing Actions (Core Competency 9): This session explores ICF Core Competency 9 – Designing Actions and includes a detailed examination of the key components and skills that the ICF defines as essential to Designing Actions. Students are introduced to Solution-Focused Coaching as an approach to coaching that can be useful in Designing Actions. Through a review of the solution-focused coaching approach students learn about brainstorming, celebrating successes, overcoming reluctance and stretching the client’s comfort zone by focusing on solutions. The session includes live demonstrations, time for small group discussion, 40 minutes of one-to-one practice coaching and one hour of small group mentor coaching.
